Very true. I had seen it on alth earlier. Good that you posted it here
Can we name a few captains who are missing here?
Probably they were left out intentionally ;)

Other graphs can miss Ganguly as well. ...
On topic, Ganguly is the best Indian Captain ever. But I am seeing him being challenged by MS Dhoni and this can be only good signs for Indian Cricket.
They will have a situation like Australia had at the beginning of 90s. Border started the changed from absolute depth and Taylor continued it to new heights. Someone like steve waugh will come in later to reap the benefits. There is one disconnect in the story though, India's great will be retiring now but Border started with a new team. Anyways, It will be hard to replicate this kind of performance outside India. Remember, Mohali is still not the heaviest defeat of australia by India, it was a match in that 97 series I think. Thankfully no one said at that time that Azhar is the best captain India hadm or did they?
The one who has actually reaped the most benefits is Ricky Ponting
. I think the best out of the 4 was Mark Taylor. In defence of Border, he did not have a Shane Warne.
What Ponting's team is missing is a Steve Waugh type of a player.
Border did not start with a new team. He instilled confidence in the team and made the team a winning team. Taylor had a new team. Border had Mcdermott, Dean Jones, Greg Mathews, himself, Boon etc all established players. Only Steve Waugh was young. Not sure when Healy started. Taylor started off with new players like Mark Waugh, Shane Warne, Slater, McGrath, Gillepsie, Gilchrist etc and converted them into champions. Steve Waugh got all the above and Hayden, Martyn, Lee etc.
People could have. You are never sure with the media.
